The wireless operators were onboard the Titanic to communicate with other ships and to send messages to friends and loved ones. Jack Philips was the wireless operator on the ship, he was relieved of duty but continued to send messages to other ships for help. It is reported that his last message was fragmented and hurried but sent with a steady hand. He went down with the ship.
