“The Plea” wasn't meant to be statement about society. It began as the simple story of a friendship torn apart by the harsh realities of the world. Without intending to, it became infused with the author's own experiences of being born in Russia, living in Saudi Arabia, and traveling abroad—that’s when it became more than a story. It became an attempt to make sense of a world plagued by segregation, discrimination, and societal hierarchies—something that could make a difference.
